Northwoods Forest School
Team

Northwoods Forest School is guided and stewarded with care, intention, and deep respect for childhood, nature, and community. While Northwoods no longer operates as a full-time school program, its work continues through seasonal offerings, land stewardship, and family-centered nature experiences.

Guiding Northwoods

At Northwoods Forest School, our dedicated guides bring a wealth of experience and passion for nature-based education. Each guide plays an integral role in nurturing the whole child through hands-on learning and outdoor exploration, blending Waldorf principles with mindfulness and Scandinavian simplicity.

Ms Sara, Director + Founder + Lead Guide

Sara founded Northwoods Forest School with a vision of honoring childhood through meaningful connection to the natural world. With over two decades of experience working with children, families, and outdoor education programs, her work is rooted in forest school values, Waldorf-inspired pedagogy, and Scandinavian simplicity.

Sara holds extensive training in nature-based education, early childhood development, and youth safety, and has spent years cultivating outdoor learning environments that prioritize wonder, resilience, and respect for the land.

Today, Sara continues to guide Northwoods through seasonal programming, community gatherings, and stewardship of the campus, ensuring that the heart of the work remains intact while honoring sustainable rhythms for families and the land.
